Birth control pills Yaz and Yasmin have recently been linked to medical issues in women. According to complaints against drug maker Bayer, the pills have been shown to cause heart attacks, strokes, Deep Vein Thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, gallbladder disease and even sudden death.

Bayer has denied allegations that the pills were not properly researched and that their risk was covered up. However, there have been nearly 50 officially reported cases of these medical issues since April of this year. With the wide spread use of these birth control pills, however, it is likely that this is just the beginning.
