A Pittsburgh Tribune Review report claims that nearly 150 lawsuits have been filed against the drug manufacturer Bayer for injuries thought to be caused by the contraceptive Yasmin. As of last week, six complaints asked for a total of $150,000 in punitive damages, and sought compensatory damages as well.
Some individuals claim that since it’s release in 2004, the popular birth-control medication has been the cause of nearly 50 deaths. People claim that use of the drug can lead to stroke, heart attack, and other serious injury.
