Bayer faces lawsuit after young woman dies of blood clot

Posted on May 11th, 2011 No Comments

Bayer Pharmaceuticals is facing a lawsuit after an 18-year-old college student died of a blood clot that was allegedly linked to the Yaz oral birth control that she was taking.

The suit states that the woman was taking Yaz in order to treat acne when she died of a cardiac arrest attack last September.

According to the suit, Bayer failed to warn doctors of the potential side effects that were associated with the new generation of birth control pills compared to older ones. The family came forward in order to prevent the same thing from happening to other families.

Our deepest thoughts and condolences are with the friends and family of the victim.
