Last week, Pfizer announced the recall of over one million packs of birth control pills after it was discovered that a packaging error could have resulted in a wrong amount of hormone pills in each package.
Officials are now concerned that the faulty packaging may cause lawsuits to be filed that claim “wrongful pregnancy.” The recall affected of Lo/Ovral-28 tablets and the packs were supposed to have 28 hormone pills and seven inactive pills.
The packaging issue left some packs with more than 28 active pills and some with less. If a woman does not take enough of the hormone pill, unwanted pregnancy could occur. Pfizer noticed the problem quickly and announced the recall, but most of the packages were already sold and some are worried that women will see the affects of the mistake.
Another birth control pill that has been the center of lawsuits is Yasmin, manufactured by Bayer Pharmaceuticals. These pills have been connected to the development of certain serious side effects such as blood clot and stroke and if you have developed one of these, you need representation on your side that is committed to helping those who have suffered from another’s negligence.
