Bayer Healthcare settles 70 claims

Posted on March 7th, 2012 No Comments

Bayer Healthcare has now settled claims brought on by 70 women that state that the birth control pills Yasmin and Yaz, caused women to develop a pulmonary embolism or deep-vein thrombosis.

A judge also ordered last week that the bellwether trials be pushed back from April to June and that the bellwether trial is continued until further notice. Bayer faces another 11,300 claims brought on by women who state similar claims from the oral contraceptive pills.

There has also been some indication that the lawsuits will be settled on a case-by-case basis. Women are claiming that the healthcare company failed to warn women of side effects associated with the use of the birth control pill.

If you suffered a serious health issue after using an oral contraceptive such as Yasmin or Yaz, you need representation on your side that may be able to help you receive the compensation for your pain that you deserve.
