The man was rushed to the hospital when the left side of his body went numb and medical officials stated that it was the fast help from his family that kept him alive. The numbness started with his face and then moved to his arm and eventually to his legs.

Doctors are still unsure at this time at what caused the stroke and the coach stated that he was in good health before the stroke occurred. He is currently on the way to a full recovery as he prepares to return to work in honor of spring training.

Heart disease is currently the leading cause of death for Americans and stroke is the 4th leading cause. These levels are very concerning because they are much too high. Now is the time to learn how to improve your heart health and reduce strokes.

Medicare has now introduced the Million Hearts campaign that is aiming to prevent at least 1 million heart attacks in the next five year period. Heart disease can mean many different conditions and the most common is coronary heart disease.

There are factors that can contribute to poor heart health and this includes a person’s genetics, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and lifestyle choices. A stroke is an attack on the brain that occurs when the blood flow to the brain is blocked and this can stem from a blood clot or busted blood vessel.

Young woman suffers stroke after taking Yasmin

Posted on October 12th, 2010 No Comments

A 21-year-old woman suffered a stroke that caused her to lose the function on the right side of her face and her speech. The woman claims that the stroke was caused by Yasmin birth control that she took twice, once from 2005-2006 and again 2008.

In between the two separate occasions that she took Yasmin and after she finished taking Yasmin in 2010, she was put on a low trycyclic birth control. The woman, who was a very active fitness instructor and cheerleader, began to suffer from headaches and loss of vision and the doctors did not know why.

Then two weeks before she had a stroke, she lost half of her vision and eye doctors found no problem. They day she had the stroke, her parents thought she was sleeping in her bed, but as she continued to sleep well into the afternoon, they knew something was wrong and they took her to the hospital. Doctors found no other cause for the massive stroke except for birth control.
